West Virginia Motor Speedway wants your family’s visit to the Speedplant to be a fun & entertaining experience and nothing gets your heart racing – or kicks up the dirt – like dirt track racing at West Virginia Motor Speedway. Here’s everything you need to know about our track and facilities.
Track Specs: Track Size 5/8 mile; Turns 95 Ft. Wide; Straights 65 Ft. Wide; Banking 22 Degrees
Seating: Terraced Hillside & Concrete Bleachers
Free Parking: West Virginia Motor Speedway always has free parking. We also have ample space for handicap parking located just outside the main entrance of turn 1.
What To Bring: The entire family and friends, lawn chairs or blanket for terraced hillside seating or cushions or stadium seats for backstretch seating, Casual attire is the word at the speedway. Just remember, you are out in the outdoors, so dress accordingly for the elements, and don’t forget the sunscreen. The races can get loud at times so if you have sensitive hearing, ear plugs or ear muffs may be the ticket for you. We sell both products at the souvenir stand at a minimal cost.
Coolers: Coolers are allowed at West Virginia Motor Speedway, although we ask that you limit your cooler to no bigger than 14”. Remember no glass bottles will be allowed into the speedway, as your cooler will be subject to inspection before entry to the grand stand area. If your cooler is larger than 14” we will ask you to take it back to your vehicle. Unattended coolers left at the gate will NOT be the responsibility of the West Virginia Motor Speedway. NO CARRY IN OF ALCOHOL ALLOWER PER INSURANCE REGULATIONS!
Restrooms: West Virginia Motor Speedway offers 3 full service restrooms. One is located at the main concession stand, one at the backstretch concession stand and one located in the upper pit area. There are also Porta-Johns down in the turn four area.
Main Concession Stand: Located directly to your right as you enter the midway thru the turn 1 gate. Whether you just need an ice cold soda or a complete meal of a cheeseburger, fries, nachos, etc. you will find the best food in the short track racing business here. If you attend other sporting event venues, don’t think you will see a $4 hot dog or a $6 beer at West Virginia Motor Speedway …..our food is good & it is affordable for the entire family!
Beer Garden: Also located on the midway beside the main concession is the new Beer Garden. Here you will find all your favorite adult beverages. Be ready to show us you’re I.D. if you plan on purchasing our adult beverages, as we do card & record every purchase.
Camping: VIP Turn 1 Camping overlooking the speedway is the most popular. To reserve your spot call 304-771-5661. Also lots of camping space available located behind turns 3 and 4. We do not have hookups. Small fires are allowed as long as they stay contained. VIP Turn 1 Camping $100, VIP In Turn 1 Area $50, General Camping $25 for the weekend.
Souvenir Stand: West Virginia Motor Speedway has a souvenir stand located on the midway. Here you can find all of your latest and greatest West Virginia Motor Speedway apparel & souvenirs. We offer tee shirts, sweat shirts, hats, tank tops, can coolers, seat cushions, ear plugs and more.
Group Rates/Specials: Do you want to bring your kids to the track for a birthday party? Have a big group of people that want to have a great time at the speedway? West Virginia Motor Speedway has many different group rates for all shapes and sizes. Call the speedway office today at 304-771-5661 to reserve a section for your group.
Customer Service: If you have a question or a problem, don't hesitate to see a speedway employee in a staff shirt and they will be happy to help you or find someone who can.
Emergencies: Report all emergencies immediately to the nearest speedway employee or at the main ticket booth.
Fan Conduct: West Virginia Motor Speedway is a family oriented facility, fans using abusive or profane language or are deemed to be intoxicated will be removed from the property without refund. Please report any problems to your nearest speedway staff member.
For the Kids: West Virginia Motor Speedway conducts kids activities every race night. Kids need to sign up upon their arrival at the WVMS Kids 4 Racing Club. Events typically begin at 5:30 p.m.
Internet: Pick up the latest race results, get schedule information, order tickets and more at the West Virginia Motor Speedway web site at www.wvspeedway.com .
Competing Divisions: Super Late Models, FASTRAK Late Models, TSMA Modifieds, 410 Sprints, HotMods, Pure Stocks, Mini Wedges. Check the schedule for dates and divisions racing as they may change from time to time for special events.
Pit Area: All minors must have a Minor Release Form completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian at the speedway.
