(Mineral Wells, WV)  BDS Racing Promotions together with local Charleston area businessman Lynn Chapman and Associates have formed a joint partnership, Mountain State Motorsports Promotions and have reached an agreement with the PMC Company on a three year lease on the West Virginia Motor Speedway. 

The West Virginia Motor Speedway, affectionately known as the 5/8 mile ‘speedplant’, will roar back to action in 2010 with a most aggressive special event schedule featuring some of the biggest races in the nation, the most well known names in motorsports along with the regions finest racers will thrill fans once again all summer long at West Virginia’s premier entertainment venue.  

BDS Racing Promotions have made a name for themselves in the racing business by promoting and resurrecting the ‘bullring’ at Tyler County Speedway for the last six seasons.  Record crowds and car counts have been the norm at the Middlebourne, WV oval since the trio took over and they will look for the same success at the Mineral Wells venue.  By offering fans a diverse schedule, fan friendly promotions, a well ran and timely show, and producing a racy surface being a top priority will once again make WVMS the place to be. 

“It seems like WVMS has always been plagued with bad luck in the past but has also always been a favorite among race fans.  We hope to once again make the West Virginia Motor Speedway a showplace West Virginia can be proud of and bring the speedway back to the forefront of motorsports venues in the nation” stated Brian Ferrell.    

From it’s unique, beautiful and spacious terraced hillside seating, perfect location along Interstate 77, to the awe inspiring high speeds offered, are just a few reasons avid motorsports enthusiast claim WVMS a must see. 

 “ We have some really big shows in the works that i’m sure will put WVMS back on the national map.  From marquee crown jewel  racing events, to family oriented monster truck shows, hammer down  410 sprint action, the sky’s the limit really on what is possible at WVMS” said BDS’s Daniel Patterson. 

As years of neglect have started to show the age of the WVMS, the new promotional group are preparing to undertake the immense chore of restoring the speedplant to the showplace it once was.  Track work, new clay, mowing, fresh paint, and lots of elbow grease will begin this fall to get a jump on the 2010 season.  A late April season opener is the target date for the grand reopening. 

“We have gotten our feet wet at WVMS by promoting a few shows in the past including the successful RaceFest World Championships, AMA Flat Track Grand Nationals, and NASCAR’s Race of Champions and feel the time is right to step it up with what we have learned in our past ventures at WVMS”  stated Scott Strode.    

BDS Racing Promotions are blessed and excited about bringing Mr. Chapman on board.  “We have known Lynn for several years and have never met a more genuine person that loves racing like he does and with his many resources and work ethic are thrilled to have Lynn and his associates Tom Wellman and David Saulsgiver on board in bringing the monster 5/8 mile back to the pinnacle of motorsports” concluded Brian Ferrell.
