RACEFEST V
$20,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, AMRA Modified Nationals Headline!
"King of the Mountains" Late Models Makes WVMS debut Friday!
Outlaw Street Stocks Return! September 14-15, 2007
Once again the hills and valleys of West Virginia will be filled with turning leaves, football fever and the sound of fire breathing late models scorching the 5/8 mile "Speedplant" that is West Virginia Motor Speedway. Putting together another action packed super late model, fan-friendly weekend, BDS Racing Promotions will orchestrate the tri-sanctioned, two day event. The rolling hills of the Mid Ohio Valley will be rocking once again as the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series returns to West Virginia's premier motorsports facility, the West Virginia Motor Speedway for the traditional Fall Classic "RaceFest World Championships!"
Friday, September 14 th starts off the weekend with a Super Late Model Open Practice session as drivers will dial their machines in for Saturday Night's RaceFest 75 lap main event. Preliminaries for the AMRA Modified Nationals will set the stage as the modified drivers will slug it out to make the $2000 to win/ $200 to start feature on Saturday. Over fifty modifieds packed the pits in 2006 and BDS anticipates inflating that count for 2007. Also on Friday, the "King of the Mountains" Late Models make their debut at the "Speedplant" while they duke it out in preliminary action for a chance at the $2000 to win/ $200 to start A-main on Saturday. The first year weekly racing series will use the RACEFEST weekend and WVMS as host of its season championship. Fans will now be able to get their late model fix early this year when these steel block late model machines hit the dirt on Friday. The KOM Late Models, are a steel block late model series that use weight offsets and a strict tire rule to help neutralize competition. "I think true late model fans will truly appreciate the level of competition and the close racing action that the KOM racing series will provide that weekend," says Rocky Estep, series founder and director. Outlaw Street Stocks will round out the prelim card as well on Friday. The entertaining muscled up stock cars will also "thrill the hill" with their $700 to win/ $100 to start A-main on Saturday.
2007 RACEFEST fans will see a complete, $20,000 to win, one day show on Saturday for the Lucas Oil Late Models. A slight change in itinerary for BDS who felt the change for a one day show would accommodate to allow some drivers to participate who couldn't under the two-day format. "Who wouldn't like making $20,000 in one day," stated Richie Lewis, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Director, when asked about the change from two days to one. Saturday's track events will kick off with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers autograph session, hot laps, qualifications, heats and consolation events for the Lucas Oil Late Models. Features from Friday's AMRA, KOM and Street Stock prelims will also highlight the evenings card. Of course the "Main Event" will be as always the "RACEFEST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP" that will see Scott Bloomquist defend his 2006 title as Lucas Oil hot shoes such as Donnie Moran, Steve Casebolt, Earl Pearson Jr., Scott James and Terry English will be in pursuit of the huge $20,000 cash prize presented by BDS Racing Promotions. But don't bet on one of those names standing in victory lane, as seen in past sanctioned events, Ohio Valley locals pose a huge problem for series travelers, such as Mike Balzano, Steve Shaver and Bart Hartman have shown more than capable in years past and are threats to win at any track in the United States.
